SLU Turkey Trot (Updated times)

The annual Turkey Trot 5K run/ 3K walk will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008.

The 5K run will begin at 10:00 a.m. sharp with the 3K walk beginning directly after.  The race course is on campus and starts at Chaifetz arena.

All proceeds benefit the Campus Ministry Food Drive.  Pick up a registration form in SLU Campus Ministry or in your residence hall.  Pre-registration entry form and fee is due by 3PM on Nov. 21st.

Pre-Register by Nov 21 at Campus Ministry
$12, or $10 + 2 canned goods

Race-Day Registration at Arena Main Entrance
(8:00 a.m.-9:45 a.m.)
$14, or $12 + 2 canned goods

All runners and walkers will receive a stylish Turkey Trot T-shirt.  There will also be age-group awards and door prizes.

Rock the Turkey…Palooza! is a Benefit Concert in Support of SLU’s Campus Kitchen

$5.00 suggested donation per person

100% of donations will help provide Thanksgiving meals for families in need.

Events Internship Available at Chaifetz Arena

Want to work in a dynamic sports environment? Chaifetz Arena is offering internships to students. Read on to find out about the criteria for potential applicants and the job description.

Intern will gain valuable experience in the Sports and Entertainment industry by working in the Events Management Department. Interns play an integral role in the everyday processes of arena operations and the successful execution of arena events. Intern must be organized, motivated, and able to work well under pressure situations.

Compensation: Unpaid

Open to sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate college students. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point. Must have ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks.

Full-Time. Flexible hours. Must be available nights and weekends.

Responsibilities:
*Assist in supervising event staff
*Assist with event operations and set-up including concerts, games, shows, and other events
*Support in planning and execution of events
*General support of Event Operations Department in daily operations
*Tend to needs involved with guest relations
*Involved in star accommodations
*Interview, hire, and orientate event staff
*Perform general office duties including data entry, answering/checking phone and e-mails
*Other duties as assigned

ZTA Yoplait Lids Drive

Zeta Tau Alpha is still collecting pink Yoplait lids in order to raise money for their philanthropy. (breast cancer research and awareness). If you still have lids, please turn them in to the boxes located in the lobby of Marchetti East, Reinert, Greis, or DeMatt no later than December 6.
