Ok so classes are over and the only thing standing between you and break is well…finals. Since today is the official “Study Day” we here want to wish you the best of luck on all your exams.
While we don’t promote it, last week’s poll showed that quite a few of may just end up cramming last minute before your final. (No judgment, so will I) So if you must, here are a few good cramming tips!
- Look over the material that has to be learned in a general way. Look at each chapter for the main topics or most important ideas. Read over the captions under the pictures, look at lists, read text boxes, study graphs and diagrams. These visual strategies usually signal what is important within a chapter. Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many concepts. Pick out what you think is the most important and know them well.
- Turn on all of the nights. Put on some nice, non-snuggly clothes. Put on some upbeat music with no words – too distracting. Find an upright, non-cushy chair. Do not even go near the TV or your bed! Find a desk with a whole lot of room. Find a quiet place with no distraction.

TweetSaint Louis University School of Public Health is hosting a screening of “Planet in Peril,” a CNN documentary that includes SLU research, from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at Salus Center room 1501.
The program profiles La Oroya, a small Peruvian village and home of the Doe Run Peru lead smelter, which is affiliated with the Doe Run Co. Fernando Serrano, a School of Public Health researcher who led a team in La Oroya to study the levels of lead in the blood of children, was interviewed for the documentary.
What Serrano found during his research – and shared with CNN — was astounding. Serrano will be available to discuss the experiences of the School of Public Health research team, at the documentary screening.

Morning Internet,
We noticed some problems with the Wiki that hosts all the Student Organization information over the weekend. Our top scientists and system admins worked around the clock to get things back up and running. Actually it was all Andrew Brady. He fixed the internet.
As always, if you see something awry on the site, give us some feedback.
