A benefit concert for the grassroots organization International Lifeline for Haiti will be taking place Friday, January 22 from 8 pm to 11 pm at SLU’s own Billiken Club.
Come support a great cause by enjoying some great local music with a lineup that will feature Cameron Matthews the Bear Ceuse, Tim Session, Hither & Yon, and James & Mary of Firekite. A donation of $5 or more is recommended if possible.
All money raised will go to benefit two organizations working in Haiti:
- Centre Children International Life Line d’Haiti: The effective, though cash-strapped, grassroots organization International Lifeline for Haiti. Established by a native couple, it operates schools, a clinic, an orphanage, and international adoptions. SLU students and grads have done mission work for this organization and highly believe in the work they are doing.
- Partners in Health: The organization that is the focus of the Tracy Kidder’s Pulitzer-prize winning book Mountains Beyond Mountains.
This event is sponsored by the Micah House program, Doerr Center for Social Justice, and Una.
