The Center for Service and Community Engagement Holds Annual Clothing and Toiletry Drive in March

Have some extra clothes laying around? Never got the hang of using the washing machine? Donate your new or used clothing to the Center for Service and Community Engagement’s annual clothing and toiletry drive, which runs through March.

All items will be distributed at the annual Open Doors event on April 7 at the Simon Rec Center. Open doors brings hundereds of people experiencing homelessness to SLU’s campus to receive a hot meal, clothing and toiletries, and access to various social services, including medical screenings, employment opportunities, and legal assistance.

Collection bins will be placed in the following locations: Busch Student Center front desk, Campus Ministry entrance, Tegeler Hall main mobby, DuBourg Hall south entrance, Griesedieck Hall front desk area, Marchetti West front desk, Pius Library outer lobby, the Lindell Building lobby, the Medical School (lobby of south entrance off Grand), the Research Building front desk, the Allied Health Building lower level in Fresh Gatherings, the Salus Center, the SLU Hospital lobby, the SLU Cancer Center lobby, Drummond Hall suite 102

Delta Gamma Holds Anchor Splash This Week

Delta Gamma Sorority is having their philanthropy week, Anchor Splash, all this weekend. Here’s the schedule, straight from Erin Gorman:

Thursday, February 25, and Friday, February 26, 10 am – 3 pm Stop by the BSC and sign up for a Cardinal’s ticket to the April 26th game against the Braves!  They are $26 each, and a portion of the proceeds goes directly to our philanthropy.  Ask a Delta Gamma for details!

Thursday February 25, 4 – 6 pm in the DeMatt Multipurpose Room: Come see your favorite fraternity men compete for the honor of Mr. Anchorsplash in our annual fraternity pageant.  Which gentleman will have the wit, wisdom, and creativity to win the hearts of our PanHellenic panel of judges?

Sunday, February 28, 12:30 – 2:30 pm in the Simon Rec Center Pool: Another contest among the fraternities, this time testing the athleticism and coordination of fraternity groups in the Anchor Splash synchronized swimming competition and relay races! Be sure to bring your SLU ID for entry!

One hundred percent of the money raised goes towards the national Delta Gamma Foundation and the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments, here in St. Louis.

 

This is the Last Weekend to See “Anything Goes” in the University Theatre in Xavier Hall

This weekend is you last chance to see Cole Porter’s classic musical, Anything Goes t the U Theatre. Show times are Friday and Saturday, February  26 and 27, at 8 pm and Sunday, February 28 at 2 pm.

Performances are at the University Theatre in Xavier Hall, 3733 West Pine Mall. Tickets are $10 for general adults, $9 for senior citizens, $9 for faculty and staff of Saint Louis University and $7 for all students.

University Mastersingers Hold a Benefit Concert for Haiti

The University Mastersingers will be holding a Haiti Benefit Concert on Sunday, February 28, at 6:30 pm in St. Francis Xavier College Church.

Joining the choir will be Samuel Prophet, a singer from Haiti, and Wanda Becker, a violinist formerly of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The concert will feature both songs of mourning and songs of hope. Contributions will be collected to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
