Spring is settling in on St. Louis, and what better way to celebrate than with some fine wine and some stringed instruments? Mary Marshall at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art explains:
The sound of STRINGS is in the air at the Saint Louis University Museum of Art. The music of Haydn and Dvorak will be performed by two Saint Louis University string quartets on Sunday, April 11, beginning at noon and continuing until 2 p.m.
Wine and light refreshments will be served. The event is free-of-charge.
While at the museum, be sure to visit Crossing the Divide: Jesuits on the American Frontier. The exhibition contains dictionaries of Native-American languages; as well as maps and detailed journals as chronicled by the Jesuits who arrived in St. Louis in 1823. Of significant importance are the sketches and water colors of Father Nicholas Point, and on display for the first time is the Moses Linton album, a chronicle of the work and travels of Father Pierre De Smet.
