SLU-SEDS (the Space Club) is sponsoring a night of events that commemorates the first man, Yuri Gargarin, in space. The event, aptly titled “Yuri’s Night,” will include an egg drop from the 16th floor of Griesedieck, pizza, and a showing of Star Trek. Here’s the schedule for Monday night from SLU-SEDS:
Egg Drop:
4:00-4:30 Registration (Gries Lobby)
4:30 – 5:30 Egg Drop!
6:00-6:30 Prizes and Pizza! (Tegler Auditorium)
6:30-9:00 Star TrekCan your egg survive the 16 story descent?
Rules:
1 – no bubble wrap
2 – no explosives
3 – must fit through Giesedieck windowDrops are judged based on:
1 – Number of components in craft
2 – Weight of egg drop craft
3 – Landing distance from the target
4 – Egg integrity after dropEVERYONE CAN ENTER AND COMPETE FOR PRIZES
Then come enjoy free pizza and the new Star Trek movie in Tegler Auditorium at 6:00pm.If you don’t feel like designing an egg drop stop by for the movie and pizza to celebrate space and adventure!
