So you walk into a classroom on your first day of the new year. Maybe it’s your first day of college ever. Maybe you’re looking for a new start. The professor unpacks his leather satchel and hands out a stack of neatly stapled syllabi. The class looks good, except there’s one thing that confuses you, even confounds you. This is a service learning class?
Luckily, there’s folks like Bobby Wassel (rwassel@slu.edu) in the Center for Service and Community Engagement ready to help. Students looking for service opportunities, whether one-time or ongoing, are encouraged to contact the center, which is in Tegeler Hall 317, or visit www.slu.edu/service.xml to complete a service interest form.
Also don’t forget to stay tuned about the Service Fair, which will be held on the quad next month.
