SLU SEDS, which stands for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, is a group of students from all disciplines that advocates and explores all things in the great black vacuum of space. From Earth of course. This semester, they’ve got more scheduled activity than a pulsar.
The first Friday of every month the Saint Louis Science Center hosts a free planetarium show followed by a stargazing party with the local St. Louis amateur astronomy club. SLU SEDS will be there. Steve Massey, who’s the person you would show the aliens asking for a leader, explains more:
We will be meeting at the Busch Student Center’s Ritter Hall entrance at 5:45 to head on over to the Science Center. Please RSVP if you can so we know what kind of transportation we require, but additional people are always welcome. Remember, this is this Friday, September 3 at 5:45.
Steve also sent us information about how to get involved with SLU SEDS:
We will be meeting in the Busch Student Center room 254 from now on! This central location is far more inviting to those not used to the far east side of campus, and (for those who live in MDH) a nice change of pace from Parks’s hallways. Please join us at 6 PM on Tuesday, September 7, for PIZZA and our first general meeting. We’ll be talking about all the exciting events we have planned for this year and how you can get involved. Can’t make Tuesdays? Don’t fret, we’re returning to our old Monday night 6 pm timeslot for the following meeting on September 20.
Be sure to be on the lookout for the Humans v. Zombies event in October as well!
But seriously though, watch your back.
