One More Thing, One More Time: The Josh Sundquist Story

Go to the Wool Ballroom in the Busch Student Center on Monday at 7:00p.m. and you will get the chance to see a bestselling author, motivational speaker, and Paralympic ski racer: Josh Sundquist. This event is brought to you by the Academic Support/Disability Services, Simon Recreational Center, Athletic Department and they have this to say about Josh Sundquist:

He has spoken across the country to groups ranging from Fortune 500 companies to inner city public schools to the White House about how he transformed adversity and disability to become his greatest assets.

Josh is now coming to SLU to help you to let 1MT!MT (One More Thing, One More Time) be your next standard of excellence.

The event is free, so how can you resist seeing a man who has been featured on CNN, USA Today, and NPR? If you want to assist with this even or have any questions contact Mark Pousson at 314-977-8885 or poussonj@slu.edu.

Can’t Beat Good Grilling

We here at SLU Connection never pass up a good meal, and Billiken Dining is making us TGIF.

Every Friday, weather permitting, they will have the grill fired up and the local produce sizzling. Today should be perfect, so there’s no excuse to not get outside and sample the fare. Students, faculty, and staff will be able to use cash, credit, flex or billiken bucks!

Today’s menu is: ($5.99)

Grilled Marinated Portobello Mushroom Sliders with Fresh Mozzarella Roma tomato and Fresh Basil (making my mouth water already)
Or
Grilled Chicken Sliders with Avocado Relish (my healthier choice of the day, if I choose to accept it)
Or
Locally Produced G & W Bratwurst with Sauerkraut (my personal favorite, to get ready for October).

T.G.I.F. Grill Series
EVERY Friday (weather permitting), 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
outside Terra Ve

The Secret in the Wings

First play of the seasons starts tomorrow Friday, September 30th! Mary Zimmerman’s Secret in the Wings will play this weekend September 30th, October 1st and next weekend October 7th, 8th, and a matinee October 9th at 2:00p.m. All the shows are at 8:00p.m. at the University Theater in Xavier Hall. The play is described by the Department of Fine and Performing Arts as

This quirky and edgy contemporary look at classic fairy tales includes an ogre (with a tail?), princes turned into swans, and a mirthless girl who insists that seekers after her hand lose their heads if they can’t coax a smile from her. The Secret In The Wings’ intertwining stories transport the audience to unexpected lands where the impossible is probable and nothing is safe. A riveting work of danger and beauty in a category all its own.

For SLU student the cost is $7, and for SLU faculty and staff only $9. For more information contact John Lamb at 314-977-2998 or lambjc@slu.edu.
