Millstone Lecture 2011-2012

 

This Thursday, October 6th at 7:30 p.m. Jon Sawyer will be speaking as part of the Millstone Lectures. Sawyer is welcomed by the SLU LAW and its Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Law & Advocacy and the St. Louis Beacon. Sawyer’s lecture, “Bringing Stories Home: New Approaches to Covering the World” will take place in the William H. Kniep Courtroom at the School of Law.

Sawyer was selected three years consecutively for the National Press Club’s award for best foreign reporting. He preciously worked as Washington bureau chief for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Richard Dudman will be honored in the lecture.

Dudman is a distinguished reporter that was a correspondent for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for 31 years. His work in a St. Louis Work House riot and dictating an eyewitness account from that was one of his early reports. This work lead him to follow foreign wars and revolutions in; Guatemala, Argentina, the Middle East, Ireland, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Algeria, Laos, China and Vietnam.
