Dr. Carlo Rotella Presentation – “Hollywood on the Charles: A Provincial Backwater Goes Global”

Do you like movies? You might want to attend the inaugural lecture of the Mary and John Blixen Lecture Series, sponsored by the SLU American Studies Department. Dr. Carlo Rotella presents “Hollywood on the Charles: A Provincial Backwater Goes Global.” Dr. Rotella will examine the recent popularity of movies produced and set in Boston, such as “The Departed,” “The Fighter,” and “The Town” and discuss how Boston has increasingly become a significant location in global film.

The lecture is on Friday, April 13, at 1 PM in DuBourg Hall’s Pere Marquette Room. It’s free and open to the entire SLU community.
