SLU will soon be host to Dr. Mark Orbe, an internationally known educator, author, and trainer with teaching and research interests centering on the relationship between culture and communication across contexts (intrapersonal, interpersonal, intergroup, mass media). He also teaches undergrad and graduate courses and has published nine books.
Dr. Orbe will be giving several speeches at SLU later this week, co-sponsored by the Cross Cultural Center, the African American Studies Program, School of Law Office of Multicultural Affairs & Outreach, Department of Communication, and Department of Political Science.
The presentations will be:
Thurs., Sept. 20 – 12:30 in Xavier 332
Dr. Orbe will speak as part of the Department of Communication Colloquium Series.
Thurs., Sept. 20 – 5-7pm in Tegeler Hall, Carlo Auditorium
Dr. Orbe will present Obama, Race and the Media: Diverse U.S. Perspectives.
Fri., Sept. 21 – 12pm in SLU Law School, Morrisey Hall, Classroom 4
Dr. Orbe will be speaking with SpearIt, an Assistant Professor at SLU School of Law, on “Race, Politics, Language and Law: A Discussion”
