IT Upgrades for the Evening of Friday, May 20

To ensure we have a robust business continuity process for our critical information systems, information technology services will perform a live production test of our Netscaler failover capabilities. This event will take place Friday, May 20, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. During this test, there will be periods of time (approximately 60 minutes each) where service may be interrupted. You may experience connectivity issues with the following systems:

SLUGlobal
SLU.edu websites
Epic (EHR)
Eprescribe
MyChart
SLUApps.org

The Citrix Netscalers are network load balancers that direct internet traffic to the University’s critical web services. They are a key piece in making these services highly available and scalable. The 5/20 maintenance is the final phase of an effort to update the firmware of the Netscalers and re-design, reconfigure and change the network placement of them to increase reliability, security, and vendor supportability. It is an important process to help ITS in continuing to provide reliable, critical services to our internal and external customers.
