New Year’s Goal, What’s Yours?

January just ended, but does that mean you should forget about all of those goals you had for the New Year? No way!

We found a few people that had some awesome goals for the new semester. Watch this video to see what they’re up to and then tell us about your goals for the new semester. Just post a video (an awesome PG-rated video) to our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/SLUConnection.

Taco Showdown

*In deep announcer voice* Throughout the semester courageous students have braved the test of food; seven tacos. Now these weekly champions must face each other in an all out battle! Who will be the taco master? Who will win the ultimate prize of a free burrito a week? Only the tournament this Wednesday will determine the winner.

Come to Salsirita’s Fresh Cantina, Wednesday at 6:00p.m. and watch the battle begin!

December Billiken Basketball Games 2011

In case you didn’t know, our men’s basketball team is ranked No. 23rd in the latest AP poll. The last time we were ranked this highly was during the 1993-94 season. So this is kind of a big deal.

I suggest, then, that we go out and support our awesome basketball teams! Especially since there are a number of home games (taking place in the Chaifetz Arena) that are coming up in December:

Men’s Basketball

  • Dec. 3rd; vs. Portland: 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 7th; vs. Vermont: 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 10th; vs. Illinois-Springfield: 1:00p.m.
  • Dec. 17th; vs. Alabama State; 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 22nd; vs. Arkansas State; 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 27th; vs. Texas Southern; 7:00p.m.

Women’s Basketball

  • Dec. 13th; vs. Missouri-St. Louis; 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 18th; vs. Drake; 2:00p.m.
  • Dec. 20th; vs. UMKC; 7:00p.m.

You can check out the rest of the schedule for the season for the men’s team here and the women’s team here. Woot, basketball! Let’s all go out and cheer them on!
