December Billiken Basketball Games 2011

In case you didn’t know, our men’s basketball team is ranked No. 23rd in the latest AP poll. The last time we were ranked this highly was during the 1993-94 season. So this is kind of a big deal.

I suggest, then, that we go out and support our awesome basketball teams! Especially since there are a number of home games (taking place in the Chaifetz Arena) that are coming up in December:

Men’s Basketball

  • Dec. 3rd; vs. Portland: 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 7th; vs. Vermont: 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 10th; vs. Illinois-Springfield: 1:00p.m.
  • Dec. 17th; vs. Alabama State; 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 22nd; vs. Arkansas State; 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 27th; vs. Texas Southern; 7:00p.m.

Women’s Basketball

  • Dec. 13th; vs. Missouri-St. Louis; 7:00p.m.
  • Dec. 18th; vs. Drake; 2:00p.m.
  • Dec. 20th; vs. UMKC; 7:00p.m.

Celebrate the New Medical Center Recreation Complex

Friday, September 30th the Department of Campus Recreation invites you to come celebrate the opening of the new Medical Center Recreation Complex. From 4:00p.m. to 6:30p.m. the American Scores Fall Frenzy will take place. Then, the Women’s Club Soccer Team v. Washington University will be at 7:00p.m. followed by the Men’s Club Lacrosse vs. Washington University at 9:00p.m.

So, come celebrate your SLU club teams, enjoy food and special Billiken prizes, and be an awesome cheering section for SLU. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to get there, a shuttle service will be provided between the BSC circle drive and Medical Center Complex until 10:30p.m.

Homecoming 2011 – Saturday Events

This is what your day can look like on the Saturday of Homecoming/Family Weekend. (If your parents are in town bring them along, if not create parent figures out of your friends and drag them around)

From 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.: Concert and Ice Cream Social

Then, stay there and watch the Homecoming Parade at 6:00 p.m.

  • Watch the carts representing different clubs on campus and enjoy the sweet treats they throw at you

Follow the parade to Tegler Field for the Billiken Tailgate, 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m.

  • Every college kid loves free food especially with friends and music!

End your fun and food-filled night with the Soccer Game and Fireworks, 7:30p.m.

  • The men’s team is playing the Missouri State Bears at Hermann Stadium, with the annual fireworks show at halftime.

Can you imagine a better way to celebrate SLU on a Saturday?

Billikens After Dark’s “Minute to Win It” BLUE OUT!

Looks like Billikens After Dark will be busy this Friday at the Robert R. Hermann Stadium! Check it out:

Join Billikens After Dark and the Athletics Department for an awesome night of food, games, soccer, spirit, and fun!

Stop by the BLUE OUT Tailgate for your chance to eat some free food, practice your “Minute to Win It” skills, and pick up your FREE Blue Out T-shirt. Be sure to scan your ID for double SLUnatic points!

Also, any SLU Student that wears BLUE to the game will be entered into a raffle for great prizes!

Then cheer on your Billikens as they take on SEMO starting at 7pm.

After the game, find the Billikens After Dark Team outside of the stadium for the start of the Minute to Win It Competition! Check out the contests and get entered for your chance to play and win some amazing prizes!

2011-2012 Saintsations Dance & Cheer Tryouts

The Saintsations cheerleading and dance teams will be hosting a fall tryout for the 2011 – 2012 season on Thursday, September 8th. The program is looking for well-rounded, enthusiastic and talented cheerleaders and dancers to join the 2011-2012 team. Tryouts are also open to experienced or aspiring male cheerleaders as well.

The tryouts take place in the Chaifetz Arena practice gym on Thursday, September 8th from 7PM-9:30PM. Registration begins at 6:45PM
