Bowling is pretty fun by itself, but once you add in the “cosmic” factor? Woah, look out! You got yourself a party.

The ever-busy Billikens After Dark and the Department of Campus Recreation are hosting a night of Cosmic Bowling for SLU students on Saturday, January 21. If you’d like to partake in a night of bowling, dancing, pizza, and soda, grab a ticket at the front desk of the Simon Rec Center. Then meet in the main lobby of the Rec Center at 10:15 PM on Saturday. Buses will leave at 10:45 sharp for Brunswick Zone’s Lakeside Lanes. The event will last until 1:30 AM.

Bring $5 for transportation, shoe rental, 2 hours of bowling, pizza, and soda. Yes, only $5. There are only 200 tickets available, so make sure you grab one sooner rather than later. For more information, call 977-7174.

Join the Student Involvement Center, Billikens After Dark, and Student Activities Board while they welcome winter 2012. Several events over the next few days will help you prepare for a new semester, reminisce about 2011, and celebrate the new year.

The first of these events is the Spring SLU Fair, this Wednesday, January 18th. If you stop by the 2nd floor of the Busch Student Center from 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. you will get the chance to learn more about student organizations on campus and how you can get more involved.

So start out the year right by knowing what fun groups there are to join. Other Winter Welcome events will be coming soon, so don’t forget to check back!

Join Billikens After Dark on Friday for an awesome night of free live music, great food, and fun competitions.  Show off your holiday spirit in the tackiest holiday sweater competition for a chance at a great prize!  There has to be one with Rudolph or Frosty on it somewhere collecting dust.

Also, bring your carpentry skills for the annual Gingerbread House Building contest!  And throughout the night, enjoy the Winter Photo Booth for memories with all of your friends.

As a special treat, Hollywood 5 will be performing all night!  Stop by to hear awesome covers by one of St. Louis’ most well-known cover bands!

Billikens After Dark‘s trivia night series, “The Billiken Series of Pop Culture,” continues this Monday, December 5 with “A 90s Toy Story.” Your team of four is going to need your knowledge of the toys and games of the 90s to compete for the title of TRIVIA CHAMPION. It goes from 9:15 PM – 10 PM in The Billiken Club, and it’s free!

Last Monday, Billikens After Dark hosted a TV Trivia night. And now, there’s a trivia night for those of you who know what “zetus lapetus” means.

On Monday, November 14, BAD brings you “The Wonderful World of Disney” trivia night! It takes place in The Billiken Club from 9:15 PM – 10 PM. Take on the regulars and try to dethrone the champions for your chance to be “Trivia Champion” for the week!

If you know a lot about television and want to strut your stuff, join Billikens After Dark (BAD) in the Billiken Club this Monday (Nov. 7th). They will be participating in their weekly trivia competition from 9 :15p.m. until 10:00p.m. So, start your week off right and test your knowledge of all your favorite television shows.

It’s like a carnival, except in the fall…its a Carnifall!

Billikens After Dark, Omicron Delta Kappa, the Responsi-Billikens, and other on-campus groups are  bringing you the Carnifall! There will be pumpkin carving, carmel apples, photo booth photos, outdoor movies, and “Best Team Costume Contest” with either your floor, chapter, team, class, organization, or group.

With all this fun stuff it is going to be the biggest Fall Festival Event. So, go have some fall fun in the Quad this Friday (October 28) from 9:00p.m. to around 12:00a.m. Hurry before winter comes!

I can hear it now: one person on stage with a mic, while everyone in the audience is singing just as loud. Ah, nothing beats karaoke!

Billikens After Dark is offering this chance to show off everyone’s beautiful singing voices Saturday night (October 15th). They will be singing away in the Billiken Club from 9:00p.m. until midnight.

If you don’t want to sing you can show up to hear several of SLU’s A Cappella groups give awesome performances. So get your singing pants on and get ready to sing this weekend!

Billikens After Dark, HALO, the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, and SLU’s Plaza Mayor are hosting a Salsa Extravaganza! On Friday, May 6, get your best dancing shoes and bring them to the Saint Louis Room in the BSC for a crazy night of salsa!

The fun starts at 8PM with free dance lessons given by professional instructors Lauren Wilmore and Jeannie Kennedy.

Then, at 9PM, enjoy special salsa performances by SLU’s own HALO Hot ‘n Spicy and by Grupo ¡¡Azúcar!!

After that, DJ Richard Middleton will bring you the best salsa, merengue and bachata so you can practice all your newly-learned moves!

Calling all night owls and vampires! Billikens After Dark and Student Activities Board are hosting an Easter egg hunt in the dark on Friday, April 15 at 9PM. This is your chance to hunt over 1300 candy and prize-filled Easter eggs. 1300 Easter eggs is a large number of Easter eggs.

The hunt takes place in the Quad and around DuBourg, Gries, and the library. Meet in the Quad for hunt details and maps. Make sure you bring your own bag and flashlight! (Although truly dedicated egg-hunters (me) will probably bring their night-vision goggles (not really (maybe))). You can check out the event on Facebook.

This Saturday, April 2, Billikens After Dark is hosting “Dancing Like The Stars,” a dance where the attire is semi-formal or “celebrity look-alike.” The dance takes place from 8PM-midnight at Marguerite Hall. Admission is free for Marguerite and Pruellage residents, and $2 for all other students.

Prizes will be given for the best dancers and the best celebrity look-alikes!

Student organizations are working together to spread awareness of the problems in Haiti. Stop by the tents in the Quad from 9am until 4pm to learn about the challenges displaced Haitians affected by the 2010 earthquake are still facing. Each day, beginning this Tuesday, March 22, a new tent with a different theme will be set up by a student group. Please take a few minutes each day to visit and learn more!
