Billiken Dining Video Contest

Get those cameras rolling and those creative juices flowing, that’s right it’s video contest time!

The theme of the competition is “Your favorite thing about Billiken Dining” or “What you liked most about Billiken Dining from the year.”Upload your videos to Youtube and tweet them to @billikendining,  post them to the Billiken Dining Facebook wall here or email them to chartwellsslu@gmail.com.

You have until May 1st to get your videos in and the winning team will win a chef’s table. Teams can be up to six people, so grab your friends and get filming!

SLU-TV Man Vs. Food

Have you ever seen the show Man vs. Food? It’s about a guy who competes in eating competitions across the country. He eats a lot of food. Basically he has the best life in the world.

Anyway, tomorrow, February 21, SLU-TV hosts their own version of Man Vs. Food. The competition kicks off at 6 PM at Cafe Ventana. The challenge is as follows: eat one 12-inch muffaletta (3 oz. provolone cheese, 3 oz. gruyere, 6 oz hot capicola, 6 oz genoa salami, 6 oz mortadella, 4 oz jardinière, 2 bags of Zapp’s Tabasco chips= over 2lbs of sandwich) PLUS 6 Beignets.

SLU 72

SLU TV is hosting a 72 hour film festival. It started this weekend, but it will happen on the next two weekends as well. Here’s some more info from SLU TV’s David Koeller:

Do you like to make short films? Never made a film but want to?This is your chance!
The SLU 72 Film Festival kicks off this weekend! SLU 72 is a film competition in which teams have 72 hours to shoot and edit a short film of 3 to 8 minutes. The competition is open to all SLU students, faculty, and staff. Teams will check out their equipment from SLU-TV by 5:30pm on Friday, and return the equipment along with their by 5:30pm Monday. Prizes will be awarded at the SLU 72 Film Festival which will be help after Spring Break.

There are three filming weekends available: February 17-20, February 24-27, March 2-5

Name the Spring Festival

Help Student Activities Board (SAB) figure out a name for their Spring Festival. They wanted to get help from all of the SLU community to name such an awesome event.

Need more incentive than that? The winner will receive a prize and be recognized the night of the concert.You have until February 17th so get those creative juices flowing and submit your ideas here!

Jingle Bell Rocks!

Have you been longing for dancing and prancing in the frosty air? You all know it’s a bright time, and the right time, to rock the night away.

Join Billikens After Dark on Friday for an awesome night of free live music, great food, and fun competitions.  Show off your holiday spirit in the tackiest holiday sweater competition for a chance at a great prize!  There has to be one with Rudolph or Frosty on it somewhere collecting dust.

Also, bring your carpentry skills for the annual Gingerbread House Building contest!  And throughout the night, enjoy the Winter Photo Booth for memories with all of your friends.

As a special treat, Hollywood 5 will be performing all night!  Stop by to hear awesome covers by one of St. Louis’ most well-known cover bands!

We’re not sure what a jinglin’ feet are, but they will sure be mix and a-minglin’! Come on! It will be bushels of fun!
