Looking for a fun summer job? Student Media Production Team is Hiring

Do you want to be the next Scorsese or Kubrick?

The Student Media Production Team (SMPT) is looking to hire an additional member to work on video production projects through the summer. Candidates must be a current SLU student who enjoys all aspects of video production. Over the course of the summer you’ll be involved in filming and editing various video projects for the university community.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Student Media Coordinator, the Student Medi
a Staff members will provide media production services and to the division of Student Development.

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include any and/or all of the following:

1. Works with the staff of Student Life and the Student Development Department in creating, editing, and conceptualizing media projects for staff events and projects
2. Provides insight on what types of projects and mediums are most likely to capture students’ attention and interest.
3. Provides their services on a per project basis; meets with “customers” to discuss their ideas and desires for each project.
4. Knowledgeable in at least one main area of media production (video, audio, web technology and creation

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
• Working knowledge with Windows and Mac OS Platforms
• Interpersonal/Human relations skills
• Written and verbal skills
• Project coordination skills
• Planning/organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to relate to students, institutional staff, and the public
• Ability to use consumer and prosumer video cameras and equipment
• Basic knowledge of videography/photography including white balance, framing of shots, lighting, and sound

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be a student currently enrolled at Saint Louis University.
• Must have prior experience with at least one main area of media (audio, video, web design.
• Must be willing to work an irregular schedule (nights, weekends, etc.) on an as needed, hourly basis

Tutors and Supplemental Instructors Needed for Next Academic Year

Looking for a way to get involved with campus life and build professional experience? The Department of Academic Support is looking for new tutors and supplemental instruction (SI) leaders for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Tutors are still needed for both the Frost and Medical Center campuses and for a variety of subjects, including Accounting, Chemistry, Economics, Math (all levels), Philosophy, Foreign Languages (especially German and French) and more! SI leaders are needed for Chemistry, History, and Psychology!

To be eligible, you need to have earned at least a 3.0 in the subject area you wish to tutor and at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Position offers flexible, on-campus hours at the rate of $10 per hour.

The Graduate School to Offer a Health and Caring Professions Fair on Thursday

The Graduate School will be hosting a Health and Caring Professions Fair on Thursday, April 15, from 3-6 PM in Baer-Fuller, Kelley, and Lee Auditoriums.

Representatives from departments, schools, colleges dealing with health and caring professions will be on hand to answer questions regarding admission requirements, job opportunities, and average salary. Refreshments will be provided.

Simon Rec Center to Offer Information Sessions on Summer and Fall Employment

Need a job for the summer or fall? Y’know, to get, like, income n’ stuff?

Come work at the Simon Rec Center. Anyone interested in a position at the Rec over the summer or fall should attend one of the information sessions, held on April 13 at 6 PM or on April 14 at 6 PM. Both sessions will last around a half hour.
