Remember Homecoming 2011? Seems like only a couple of weeks ago. Well, SLU Connection was reminiscing about the annual Golf Cart Parade – where students from various organizations dress up carts and show school spirit – so we put together a little video. Check out interviews with representatives from Billikens After Dark, KSLU, the International Student Federation, and APO! SLU’s Student Radio Station KSLU is Recruiting for the Spring Semester

Grab your iPod and your favorite playlist, all you aspiring DJs. Now is your moment in the sun. Or at least your moment in the florescent glow of the DJ booth.

KSLU, Saint Louis University’s student-operated radio station, is recruiting for radio shows in the Spring semester.

KSLU Hosts Annual Snowball Dance Party This Saturday

KSLU, Saint Louis University’s student radio station, is hosting its annual Snowball event, which they describe as a “dance party extravaganza.”

On Saturday, December 12, from 9 pm to 1 am KSLU will be taking over the St. Louis room of the BSC. There will be dance contests with Starbucks gift cards for the winners, as well as a mix tape contest; bring a a 5-song compilation for KSLU to play and vote on later in the evening.

KSLU is inviting as many people that can fit in the St. Louis room: “EVERYONE is welcome! Come dance off the stress of finals with KSLU!”

Well said, KSLU. Well said.

KSLU Sports Recruiting Sports Broadcasters

Interested in bringing the wide world of sports to the world wide web (and channel 18)? The only sports radio station at SLU is looking for talented broadcasters interested in covering live games and hosting talk shows.

Some of the benefits include interviewing members of Billiken sports teams, building a portfolio of personal work, and having the best seats in the house at basketball games!

We visited the SLU 101 Campus Resource Fair today to meet the new students that will be joining our community this fall. The fair is a chance for new students and their families to learn more about the different student groups and student services here at SLU. Check out some photos of the event below.

Distinguished Staff Member Kara Jenkins Receives Award

Kara Jenkins, Student Media Coordinator for KSLU and SLU TV, received an award last night for her service to student media and student life.

The Mary A. Bruemmer Award is given to the staff, faculty or administrator who has done the most to improve student life at SLU. Kara definitely fits the bill.

If you see Kara around campus or in the BSC, be sure the congratulate her and thank her for all of her hard work!
