La Cena

There is nothing like eating Spanish and Latin American food and supporting a good cause at the same time. That’s right, the Spanish Honor Society (Sigma Delta Pi) is hosting its bi-annual dinner and fundraiser “La Cena!”

The food can be found behind the Cornado at 3757 Westminster Blvd, starting at 6:30p.m. Friday, March 23rd.  For only $7 at the door you get dinner and drinks.

Your well spent money will go to support the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging (CFCA). This is a sponsorship organization that works in 22 different countries to break the cycle of poverty by supporting education, nutritious food, medical services, and social activities for children. Through the proceeds from this event Sigma Delta Pi hopes to sponsor a child in Guatemala.

For more information on CFCA check out their website here.

What is Icing On The Cake Day?

Signs and flyers like the one pictured above have been popping up on campus. But the exact nature of “Icing On The Cake Day” is shrouded in mystery. What is it? What does it mean? SLU, we have ourselves a campus-wide mystery on our hands.

Well, you didn’t hear this from me, but apparently all will be revealed tomorrow at 11 AM in the quad (or the BSC if it’s raining, which might be the case). As the name implies, there might be cake involved. But you didn’t hear this from me.
