The Billiken Series of Pop Culture – Blas Thru the Past: 80s

Do you know what movie that quote is from? If you do, then you should grab your friends and head over to the Billiken Club tomorrow night for Trivia Night! Join Billikens After Dark from 9:15p.m. to 10:00p.m. with your team of four to test your knowledge of the 80s.

 

21st Annual Leadership and Service Awards

There are some amazing people on this campus and all of them will be gathered together for one night only: the 21st Annual Leadership and Service Awards!

Tomorrow, April 19th the Student Involvement Center is hosting this year’s Ceremony in the Wool Ballrooms of the BSC. Starting at 6:30p.m., amazing students, staff, and faculty  will be awarded for their service and leadership at SLU and in the community. Head over tomorrow to show your support for these amazing people.

Sigma Kappa’s UV Week

This week is Sigma Kappa’s UV Week, in which the sorority raises funds to support Alzheimer’s Disease research, Maine Sea Coast Mission, and educational programming and scholarships for Sigma Kappa members. Here are the scheduled events:

Wednesday, April 18th

11 AM – 2 PM: Sigma Kappa will be selling $1 Forget-Me-Nots in the quad to benefit Alzheimer’s Association. Also, you can donate coins and receive a lollipop!

Thursday, April 19th

11 AM – 2 PM: The girls will be selling Forget-Me-Nots once again, at the Clocktower this time.

6:30 PM: Watch fraternities go head-to-head in “Fraternity Feud,” an epic game show battle in Tegeler Auditorium. Bring an empty soda can for admission.

Friday, April 20

4 PM – 7 PM: The world-famous “Sketti Dinner” takes place in the DeMatt Multipurpose Room. For $6, get yourself some crazy good spaghetti to end your week.

 

 

Dead Man Walking Movie Showing

Remember when Sr. Helen Prejean, CSJ came and talked during Atlas Week? If you don’t click here to see the post about it. She is a very interesting woman with a very interesting life, so interesting that there is a movie base on her works: Dead Man Walking.

Students for Life is giving everyone a chance to see Dead Man Walking tomorrow, April 18th, from 7:00p.m. to 9:30p.m. in the Kelley Auditorium.

Great Issues Committee Events

Have you heard of the Great Issues Committee (GIC)? This is a committee dedicated to bringing great people to discuss great issues. And they are bringing you a great event this week!

The first will be this Tuesday, April 17th from 7:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. in the Wool Ballrooms of the BSC. The event,”West Bank: Two Reactions,” will host two women who will give personal narratives and perspectives of life growing up on the West Bank.

If these kind of events sound really great and you want to be a part of the Great Issues Committee they are accepting applications until April 17th. If you have any questions you can email GIC at gic@slu.edu.
