Fat Talk Free Week 2009

Sponsored by SLU’s Student Health and Counseling Center, Fat Talk Free Week 2009 will take place on campus Wednesday through Friday, October 21 through 23.

The goal of this event is to stop “fat talk” and promote awareness of the dangers of negative body image and eating disorders.

SLU’s Fat Talk Free Week will involve tables set up in the BSC and the Nursing School, as well as flyers and information provided at the front desks in Griesedieck and DeMattias. Students will be able to watch Tri Delta’s 2009 Fat Talk Free awareness video, learn more about what constitutes “fat talk,” and why people need to be more mindful of this reality. All will have the opportunity to sign a pledge promising not to fat talk.
