Following the Russian Revolution of 1917, Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia, was executed by firing squad with his wife and four daughters. The four daughters, Olga, Tatiana, Marie, and Anastasia, are the subject of the University Theatre’s latest production, OTMA.
OTMA, which gets its title from the acronym of the girls’ names, dramatizes their last days under house arrest, performing scenes from Anton Chekov’s “The Cherry Orchard” to pass the time leading up to their doom.
The dates for the play are April 8 and 9 at 8PM and April 10 at 2PM. Tickets are $7 for students and $10 for everyone else. The play will be performed in the University Theatre’s black box studio theatre, which is an intimate space. It is recommended that you call ahead of time for reservations (314-977-3327), because the theatre is limited to 68 seats.
