January just ended, but does that mean you should forget about all of those goals you had for the New Year? No way!
We found a few people that had some awesome goals for the new semester. Watch this video to see what they’re up to and then tell us about your goals for the new semester. Just post a video (an awesome PG-rated video) to our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/SLUConnection.
On Saturday, October 8th members of the Student Government Association executive board traveled to the Eastern Reception and Diagnostic Correctional Center in Bonne Terre, Missouri. The center is home to the Saint Louis University College In Prison Program (CIPP). The SGA representatives traveled to the campus in order to speak with the CIPP students, including the incarcerated students and the staff students.
The following video summarizes the reflections those members had on their experience within the prison walls, as well as a testament to the commitment SGA has to the insurance of success for CIPP and for the students.
The visit was conducted with intentions of interacting with individuals the SGA representatives consider to be fellow students. The incarcerated and staff students are constituents of SGA and are thus important members for the voice of the students to interact with.
If you would like to learn more about how SGA is involved with this program, please contact SGA via email, sga@slu.edu.
You may have noticed some strange happenings on campus the week of October 17th: groups of people with Nerf guns, random colorful ties around peoples’ arms, necks, or heads, people running in fear. This was SLU’s own Humans vs. Zombies.
This is a video that will help you understand the attacks and be better prepared in case another zombie outbreak should occur.
Remember Homecoming 2011? Seems like only a couple of weeks ago. Well, SLU Connection was reminiscing about the annual Golf Cart Parade – where students from various organizations dress up carts and show school spirit – so we put together a little video. Check out interviews with representatives from Billikens After Dark, KSLU, the International Student Federation, and APO! Also, stick around at the end of the video to check out footage of the parade itself! Woah! It’s like you’re actually there!
The event will also celebrate two global professionals: Edward Monser IV, president and COO at Emerson, and Dr. Peter Raven, former president of the Missouri Botanical Garden.
SLU Connection caught up with three of the award and scholarship recipients to find out what sets them apart. From studying abroad to having lofty career goals, these Billikens share the benefits of global insight.
