Each year Saint Louis University’s Prison Arts and Education Program presents one public event by another prison education program. This year the neighboring Grand Center, Prison Performing Arts is performing: Green Eggs and Hamlet
If Shakespeare and Hamlet had a love child it would this play. The creator, F. Reed Brown, had taken the rhythm and simple vocabulary of Dr. Seuss and applied to a Shakespearean classic. 5 actors will be performing with much hilarious doubling of characters and many shamelessly corny jokes.
The play will be performed this Friday at Il Monastero, 3050 live Street, and will start at 5:30p.m. The event is free and open to the public so bring your friends for an entertaining time.
This is all part of SLU’s Prison Arts and Education program.
The of SLU’s Prison Arts and Education program is to provide intellectually stimulating educational experiences for incarcerated persons, prison staff, and community members that fosters human connection, an appreciation for the arts, and resources for positive self-expression and personal growth
